Position:
Technical Service Team Manager
Department:Product Management Group
Location: Technical Center, Farmington Hills, MI
Reports To:Director of Product Management and Technical Service

SKILLS & WORK EXPERIENCE:

♦ Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as being a strong leader, overseeing a customer-oriented product support team
♦ Must be an excellent communicator and speaker both online in written interactions, and face-to-face customer service interactions
♦ Working knowledge of Windows computers, essential programs, and performance metrics applications
♦ Demonstrated ability and proven track record of effective employee management
♦ Set reportable metrics to measure and maintain performance and health of WTC’s Technical Support department
♦ Experience in resistance welding process and use of resistance welding controls a plus
♦ Technically proficient in electro-mechanical related concepts


EDUCATION:

♦ Bachelor of Science in Welding or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
♦ Provide technical and troubleshooting support to customers through phone support, plant visits, video meetings, and lab test verifications
♦ Maintain a positive attitude while leading a team of Application Engineers in an efficient and productive manner
♦ Anticipate Application Engineers’ needs using proper leadership techniques and proven problem-solving methods
♦ Mentor current support team while developing and executing plans for longer-term manpower requirements
♦ Have a full working knowledge of WTC’s product line and technology to respond to every customer and application engineers’ inquiry
♦ Manage all global service providers, provide and review contracts as needed to be able to maximize customer service and profitability
♦ Monitor top tier customer problems to ensure a high level of response time and proper problem resolutions
♦ Add and/or make changes to WTC’s knowledge base to anticipate the needs of your team and customers
♦ Develop a marketable service and training programs for customers
